The Much Hadham Conservation Area covers about 163 hectares and was designated by East Hertfordshire District Council in 1981. Inside the boundary are 99 listed buildings (4 Grade I, 10 Grade II*, 85 Grade II). The most significant is Boundary Wall at Yewtree Farm, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 2, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
