The Chagford Conservation Area covers about 21 hectares and was designated by Dartmoor National Park in 1973. Inside the boundary are 48 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 3 Grade II*, 44 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Michael, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 2, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
