The Birkenhead Park Conservation Area covers about 81 hectares and was designated by Wirral Borough Council in 1977. Inside the boundary are 42 listed buildings (1 Grade II*, 41 Grade II). The most significant is Grand Entrance Gateway With North and South Lodges, Grade II*. 29 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
