The Witney And Cogges Conservation Area covers about 135 hectares and was designated by West Oxfordshire District Council in 1968. Inside the boundary are 266 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 11 Grade II*, 253 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Mary, Grade I. 8 Article 4 directions over the area remove further householder rights, on top of the conservation area limits below. Part of the area lies in flood zone 2, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
