The Overton Conservation Area covers about 89 hectares and was designated by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in 1971. Inside the boundary are 45 listed buildings (4 Grade II*, 41 Grade II). The most significant is Chapel, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
