The Great Asby Conservation Area covers about 42 hectares and was designated by Yorkshire Dales National Park in 2002. Inside the boundary are 13 listed buildings (2 Grade II*, 11 Grade II). The most significant is Asby Hall, Area Railings and Central Gate, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 2, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
