The Widdington Conservation Area covers about 10 hectares and was designated by Uttlesford District Council in 1976. Inside the boundary are 26 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 2 Grade II*, 22 Grade II). The most significant is Prior's Hall, Grade I. 102 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
