The Oxford Street Conservation Area covers about 8.5 hectares and was designated by Southampton City Council in 1972. Inside the boundary are 23 listed buildings (1 Grade II*, 22 Grade II). The most significant is Main Station Building Including Booking Hall at Terminus Station, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 2, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
