The South Stoke Conservation Area covers about 8.5 hectares and was designated by South Downs National Park in 1998. Inside the boundary are 5 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 4 Grade II). The most significant is The Parish Church of St Leonard, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
