The Pilton Conservation Area covers about 32 hectares and was designated by Somerset Council in 1977. Inside the boundary are 38 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 2 Grade II*, 34 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St John the Baptist, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
