The Guisborough Conservation Area covers about 123 hectares and was designated by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council in 1871. Inside the boundary are 104 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 1 Grade II*, 101 Grade II). The most significant is Priory Dovecote, To West of St Mary's Priory Ruins, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
