The City Centre Conservation Area covers about 25 hectares and was designated by Peterborough City Council in 1969. Inside the boundary are 91 listed buildings (20 Grade I, 5 Grade II*, 66 Grade II). The most significant is 16, Precincts, Grade I.

Conservation areas are “Article 2(3) land”. You keep most permitted development rights, but these are removed or tightened.
