About the Knaresborough Conservation Area

The Knaresborough Conservation Area covers about 129 hectares and was designated by North Yorkshire Council in 1969. Inside the boundary are 195 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 3 Grade II*, 190 Grade II). The most significant is Chapel of Our Lady of the Crag, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 2, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
