The Crakehall Conservation Area covers about 15 hectares and was designated by North Yorkshire Council in 1976. Inside the boundary are 24 listed buildings (1 Grade II*, 23 Grade II). The most significant is Crakehall Hall and Garden Walls, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
