The Upton Conservation Area covers about 53 hectares and was designated by Newark and Sherwood District Council in 1971. Inside the boundary are 22 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 1 Grade II*, 20 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Peter and St Paul, Grade I.
