About the Morecambe Conservation Area
The Morecambe Conservation Area covers about 32 hectares and was designated by Lancaster City Council in 1991. Inside the boundary are 27 listed buildings (2 Grade II*, 25 Grade II). The most significant is Midland Hotel, Grade II*. 22 Article 4 directions over the area remove further householder rights, on top of the conservation area limits below. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
