About the Rydal Conservation Area
The Rydal Conservation Area covers about 20 hectares and was designated by Lake District National Park in 1984. Inside the boundary are 19 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 8 Grade II*, 10 Grade II). The most significant is Rydal Mount, Grade I. 1 Tree Preservation Order record overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
