About the London Road Conservation Area
The London Road Conservation Area covers about 20 hectares and was designated by Gloucester City Council in 1984. Inside the boundary are 41 listed buildings (6 Grade II*, 35 Grade II). The most significant is Chapel of St Mary Magdalene, Grade II*. 42 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
