About the Cathedral Precincts Conservation Area
The Cathedral Precincts Conservation Area covers about 12 hectares and was designated by Gloucester City Council in 1968. Inside the boundary are 70 listed buildings (16 Grade I, 10 Grade II*, 44 Grade II). The most significant is Anglican Church of St Mary de Lode, Grade I. 1 Tree Preservation Order record overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
