The Hempsted Conservation Area covers about 7.2 hectares and was designated by Gloucester City Council in 1990. Inside the boundary are 9 listed buildings (2 Grade II*, 7 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Swithun, Grade II*. 25 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
