The Bessingby Conservation Area covers about 30 hectares and was designated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council in 1979. Inside the boundary are 9 listed buildings (1 Grade II*, 8 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Magnus, Grade II*. 45 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
