The Sandwich - St Barts Conservation Area covers about 2.0 hectares and was designated by Dover District Council in 1972. Inside the boundary are 15 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 1 Grade II*, 13 Grade II). The most significant is Chapel of St Bartholomew, Grade I. 1 Tree Preservation Order record overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 2, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
