The Abbotsbury Conservation Area covers about 85 hectares and was designated by Dorset Council in 1971. Inside the boundary are 84 listed buildings (6 Grade I, 5 Grade II*, 73 Grade II). The most significant is Chapel of St Catherine, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
