The Stanwix Conservation Area covers about 101 hectares and was designated by Cumberland Council in 1997. Inside the boundary are 44 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 2 Grade II*, 41 Grade II). The most significant is Eden Bridge, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 2, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
