The Kingsclere Conservation Area covers about 34 hectares and was designated by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in 1969. Inside the boundary are 72 listed buildings (2 Grade II*, 70 Grade II). The most significant is 20, Swan Street, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
