The Hellingly Conservation Area covers about 42 hectares and was designated by Wealden District Council in 2017. Inside the boundary are 21 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 2 Grade II*, 18 Grade II). The most significant is The Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
