The Elmdon Conservation Area covers about 17 hectares and was designated by Uttlesford District Council in 2015. Inside the boundary are 37 listed buildings (2 Grade II*, 35 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Nicholas, Grade II*. 17 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
