About the St Marychurch Conservation Area
The St Marychurch Conservation Area covers about 35 hectares and was designated by Torbay Council in 1980. Inside the boundary are 24 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 23 Grade II). The most significant is Roman Church of Our Lady, Help of Christians and St Denis, Grade I. 21 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
