About the Old Paignton Conservation Area
The Old Paignton Conservation Area covers about 32 hectares and was designated by Torbay Council in 1976. Inside the boundary are 70 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 2 Grade II*, 67 Grade II). The most significant is Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Grade I. 12 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
