The Trusham Conservation Area covers about 8.1 hectares and was designated by Teignbridge District Council in 1996. Inside the boundary are 18 listed buildings (3 Grade II*, 15 Grade II). The most significant is Chicks, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
