The Yarm Conservation Area covers about 31 hectares and was designated by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council in 1969. Inside the boundary are 110 listed buildings (6 Grade II*, 104 Grade II). The most significant is 10 and 12, High Street, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
