The Houldsworth Conservation Area covers about 22 hectares and was designated by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council in 1981. Inside the boundary are 10 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 7 Grade II*, 2 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Elisabeth, Grade I. 32 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
