The Great Haywood & Shugborough Conservation Area covers about 324 hectares and was designated by Stafford Borough Council in 1969. Inside the boundary are 40 listed buildings (7 Grade I, 7 Grade II*, 26 Grade II). The most significant is Chinese House at Shugborough Hall, Grade I.
