The Harleston Conservation Area covers about 16 hectares and was designated by South Norfolk District Council in 1975. Inside the boundary are 120 listed buildings (4 Grade II*, 116 Grade II). The most significant is 16 and 18, Old Market Place, Grade II*. 16 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
