The Great Badminton Conservation Area covers about 37 hectares and was designated by South Gloucestershire Council in 1975. Inside the boundary are 60 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 10 Grade II*, 48 Grade II). The most significant is Badminton House, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
