The Hinxton Conservation Area covers about 50 hectares and was designated by South Cambridgeshire District Council in 1976. Inside the boundary are 28 listed buildings (4 Grade II*, 24 Grade II). The most significant is Hinxton Hall (tube Investment Limited), Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
