The Cannington Conservation Area covers about 6.8 hectares and was designated by Somerset Council in 1991. Inside the boundary are 18 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 16 Grade II). The most significant is Cannington Court (part of Somerset Farm Institute), Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
