The Axbridge Conservation Area covers about 17 hectares and was designated by Somerset Council in 1991. Inside the boundary are 85 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 6 Grade II*, 78 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St John the Baptist, Grade I.
