The Thorpe Conservation Area covers about 40 hectares and was designated by Runnymede Borough Council in 1970. Inside the boundary are 35 listed buildings (4 Grade II*, 31 Grade II). The most significant is Cemex House, formerly RMC House, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
