The Ilam Conservation Area covers about 31 hectares and was designated by Peak District National Park in 1977. Inside the boundary are 28 listed buildings (3 Grade I, 3 Grade II*, 22 Grade II). The most significant is Church of the Holy Cross, Grade I.
