The Ashford-in-the-Water Conservation Area covers about 35 hectares and was designated by Peak District National Park in 1981. Inside the boundary are 41 listed buildings (1 Grade II*, 40 Grade II). The most significant is Sheepwash Bridge, Grade II*.
