The Ruswarp Conservation Area covers about 3.1 hectares and was designated by North Yorkshire Council in 1985. Inside the boundary are 26 listed buildings (2 Grade II*, 24 Grade II). The most significant is Garden Wall and Gate Piers to Ruswarp Hall (numbers 4 and 6), Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
