The Nunnington Conservation Area covers about 19 hectares and was designated by North Yorkshire Council in 1979. Inside the boundary are 22 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 1 Grade II*, 19 Grade II). The most significant is Church of All Saints and St James, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
