About the Fish Quay Conservation Area
The Fish Quay Conservation Area covers about 38 hectares and was designated by North Tyneside Council in 2004. Inside the boundary are 11 listed buildings (2 Grade II*, 9 Grade II). The most significant is Clifford's Fort South and East Wall Facing River, Grade II*. 8 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
