The Central Grimsby Conservation Area covers about 16 hectares and was designated by North East Lincolnshire Council in 1990. Inside the boundary are 25 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 24 Grade II). The most significant is Grimsby Minster, formerly the Church of St James, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
