The Chulmleigh Conservation Area covers about 10 hectares and was designated by North Devon District Council in 1971. Inside the boundary are 75 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 1 Grade II*, 73 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St. Mary Magdalene, Grade I.
