About the Leazes Conservation Area
The Leazes Conservation Area covers about 24 hectares and was designated by Newcastle City Council in 1974. Inside the boundary are 23 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 22 Grade II). The most significant is Numbers 1-59 Including Lake House, Garnett House, Hodgkin House, Gurney House and Embleton House, Grade I. 4 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
