The Marden Conservation Area covers about 7.1 hectares and was designated by Maidstone Borough Council in 1977. Inside the boundary are 32 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 1 Grade II*, 30 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Michael and All Angels, Grade I. 12 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
