About the THORP ARCH Conservation Area
The THORP ARCH Conservation Area covers about 137 hectares and was designated by Leeds City Council in 1969. Inside the boundary are 22 listed buildings (1 Grade II*, 21 Grade II). The most significant is Thorp Arch Hall Including East Wing and West Wing, Grade II*. 54 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
