About the Brixton Conservation Area
The Brixton Conservation Area covers about 22 hectares and was designated by London Borough of Lambeth in 1980. Inside the boundary are 21 listed buildings (3 Grade II*, 18 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Matthew, Grade II*. 14 Article 4 directions over the area remove further householder rights, on top of the conservation area limits below. 59 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
